Getting Started on your journey...

1. Building a Personal Learning Network (PLN)

Connecting with other educators and building a personal learning environment to support your professional learning. You'll be surprised how many educators are online sharing ideas, resources and discoveries.

Need convincing? Look at some of the great ways my PLN have supported me in the last couple of months:

Looking for Tools and ResourcesLooking for Logos
Looking for feedback about this wikiLooking for an answer
Looking for games!

When I first started blogging there were lots of people posting about the Power of their PLN...Of course, I had no idea what they meant. Imagine my surprise when I discovered I actually had a PLN of my own...I was so surprised I wrote about it in this blog post: I have a PLN...Who Knew?

2. Blogs and Wikis to explore

This section:
1. Lists some of the best blogs and wikis to follow.
2. Demonstrates some of the ways teachers are using blogs and wikis in classes.

Educators are having a wonderful time in the 'Blogosphere'! Blogs (Web + Blogs) are a great way to find out what other teachers are discussing and doing with their students. Starting a blog is also a great way to start your Web 2.0 exploration

Subscribe to the blogs you like using Google Reader. This effectively brings the information directly to you!

3. Useful online Resources and Tools:
This section highlights some of the most useful tools I've discovered online. The highlight is on teaching and learning ideas. New tools and resources become available all the time and such lists are virtually endless!!
